I Saw It In The Funny Pages

Comics aren't just cartoons for kids. There are some brilliant new illustrated, graphic novels that can blow your socks off.

Scientific Method

Seth Godin posts today about people making bad decisions based on a lack of scientific thinking. I agree with much of what Seth posits but makes some comments I consider demeaning to the public. Further, he wanders from 'scientific' into political. When we start basing decisions on a particular political dogma and ignore real science, the trouble goes from silly to dangerous.

Oh, I can just hear your typical "I'm better than you" response ...

Mr. Reich: I, for one, am appalled by your unseemly reaction to Mr. Godin's very reasonable recommendation that we . . . that we never become . . . uh, never mind.

I actually liked Seth's idea. I used to work in a place where the former administrator had been totally into drama and many of my key leaders were drama and righteous indignation about everything (while not doing anything about the problem). It drove me nuts!

Mr Reich's tongue-in-cheek post fully illustrates Seth's post and you both fell for the bait.

It's All About Relationships

It's about relationships.

Business today is about relationships. People shop where they have a relationship.

Relationships start with permission. The potential buyer grants permission to enter a dialogue. The business must tread lightly in the early stages of this dialogue. The goal is to build a relationship with the potential buyer. As the prospect learns about your business (you really), the relationship grows or terminates.

If the relationship grows, you gain a customer.

How do you build a ...
